Hi all! A great big thanks to everyone who voted in the spring election during these chaotic times. I'd like to especially thank all of those who supported me in my re-election bid. It really does mean a lot to me. Have a great weekend and stay safe!

So in case you have an absentee ballot that needs to be sent in, according to a US Supreme Court ruling last night, that ballot needs to be postmarked by 8PM tonight to be counted. They will still be accepted until the 13th, but need to be postmarked by 8PM today, April 7th. Make your vote count!

I wanted to hare this interesting talk about the changing landscape of education. It focuses technology, but there are definitely other tools to reach students "at the edges" as well. This is an approach that we are embarking on in Evansville, which I support. We have awesome teachers who have done a great job educating our students to this point, but we have a great opportunity to reach even more of them. Take a look (sorry about the length) and I hope you enjoy it.

Since it's a little harder to get out to promote myself this year, my wife and kids decided to turn a promotional video into a STEAM project. Check out their results!

So while I consider voting essential, if you're concerned about going to the polls, try absentee voting. I'm trying it for the first time and it's easy. You just need a pen and a witness. Just remember, you only have until 5:00 PM on April 2nd to request a ballot!

Thanks to the Evansville Education Association (EEA) and and the Evansville Education Association Auxiliary (EEAA) for their endorsements. These groups are comprised of a large portion of the teachers and education assistants in the District. They recognize the work that I've done in the past for the success of our students and are confident in my abilities for directing the future of the District. If elected I will continue to support efforts to retain and attract the best possible talent in education to prepare our students for the future.

I was fortunate to be able to attend the State Education Convention this year and hear Scott McLeod speak. He's a Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of Colorado - Denver and has some great ideas on the future of education. This video is an address to a specific school, but I believe this very applicable to our District as we embrace Equity in Education. If elected, I will continue to support initiatives which will help make learning more engaging and relevant for our students.
