POSTTEST DIVISION READING ASSESSMENT FOR GRADE 8 I March 25, 2026

Polong National High School successfully conducted the Posttest Division Reading Assessment for Grade 8 in both English and Filipino, as part of its continuous commitment to enhancing learners’ reading proficiency and comprehension skills.

The activity was effectively facilitated and guided by the English Reading Coordinator, Ma’am Liezl M. Vargas, and the Filipino Reading Coordinator, Ma’am Kathleen May A. Aquino, whose dedication ensured the smooth and organized implementation of the assessment.

Likewise, the initiative was carried out with the support of Sir Jan-Mark M. Rosario, Head Teacher III of the English Department, and Sir Perfecto O. Valencia, Jr., Master Teacher I and Officer-in-Charge of the Filipino Department, whose leadership and supervision contributed to the success of the activity.

In adherence to Division Memorandum No. 220, s. 2026, Polong National High School conducted a Room-to-Room Career Guidance for incoming Grade 11 students as part of its continued commitment to guide learners in making informed academic and career choices.

The activity aimed to strengthen learners’ understanding of the Senior High School Curriculum, providing them with essential information about the different strands, their aligned career opportunities, and the skills needed for future success.

The initiative was facilitated by the dedicated Grade 11 Senior High School teachers of Polong NHS, in close coordination with the Grade 10 advisers, under the guidance of Ma’am Cherry Lerye C. Melendez, Academic Group Head for Grade 11, and Ms. Angelica C. Dancel, SHS Guidance Counselor Designate, ensuring that all learners received proper guidance tailored to their interests, strengths, and aspirations.

Career Guidance and Scholarship Examination Conducted by Universidad de Dagupan for Senior High School Learners

Senior High School learners of Polong National High School actively participated in a Career Guidance activity and Scholarship Examination conducted by Universidad de Dagupan (UDD), headed by Mr. Landiel M. Robles, Marketing Head of the institution.

The activity aimed to provide learners with relevant information on scholarship opportunities, application procedures, and the conduct of the scholarship examination. Mr. Robles shared valuable insights on academic programs, admission requirements, and the benefits of pursuing higher education through scholarship grants.

Through this initiative, learners were encouraged to strive for academic excellence and to take advantage of opportunities that will help them achieve their educational and career aspirations.

Provincial Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office Conducts Financial Literacy Seminar for PNHS Senior High School Learners

The Provincial Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (PPCLDO) of the Province of Pangasinan successfully conducted a half-day Financial Literacy Seminar titled “Kasanayang Pananalapi sa Kabataang Pangasinense” for the Senior High School students of Polong National High School on March 13, 2026.

The program was led by Mr. Ellsworth C. Gonzales, Provincial Population Cooperative and Livelihood Development Officer, and aimed to equip learners with essential financial knowledge and practical skills necessary for responsible financial decision-making.

During the seminar, the participants were introduced to key financial concepts including financial basics, building a budget, investing, and debt management. The discussions emphasized the importance of proper financial planning, responsible spending, and the development of sound financial habits among young individuals.

Through this initiative, Senior High School learners were given the opportunity to enhance their financial literacy and gain valuable insights that will help them become financially responsible and informed members of the community.

Polong National High School Successfully Undergoes WinS Monitoring and Validation

Polong National High School welcomed the Division Technical Assistant Health Unit Team on March 11, 2026, for the Monitoring and Validation of the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools (WinS) Program. The activity aimed to ensure that the school continuously upholds high standards in promoting a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for all learners.

The monitoring covered several key areas of the school’s health and wellness initiatives, including the WinS Program implementation, School Canteen operations, Gulayan sa Paaralan Program, and the Self-Help Feeding Program. The inspection was conducted by the Division Medical Unit, whose comprehensive evaluation assessed the school’s facilities, programs, and practices that contribute to the overall health and well-being of learners and the entire school community.

This achievement was made possible through the visionary leadership of our dynamic School Principal IV, Dr. Marissa M. Mamaril, whose commitment to excellence continues to guide the school in implementing programs aligned with DepEd standards.

Purple Wednesday symbolizes justice, dignity, and the collective commitment to uphold the rights and welfare of women. Through this activity, the school community expressed its support for building a more inclusive and gender-responsive environment.

As part of the celebration, teachers, administrators, and staff of Polong National High School will continue to wear purple on March 18, and 25, 2026, in observance of Purple Wednesdays throughout the month.
