Media and civil society are cornerstone elements of democracy, serving to hold state institutions accountable and ensuring a transparent electoral process. In times of elections, their role becomes particularly crucial.

This week, Ambassador Rainer Rudolph had the honor of meeting with representatives from media and civil society to discuss the significance of the upcoming elections.

Recognizing the indispensable role these actors play in promoting accountability, defending freedom of speech, and empowering public participation, Germany remains deeply committed to fostering freedom and safety for journalists, media professionals, and civil society organizations. 🇩🇪🤝🇽🇰
