Today, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2026, Shri Umesh Chandra Ramchiary, a retired Primary School Teacher from Lechera village, was felicitated at his residence by Shri Manash Jyoti Malakar, ACS, I/c Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Salbari, and Shri Gauranga Barman, BEEO, Jalah, in the presence of other government officials, on behalf of the Hon’ble Governor of Assam, as part of the Governor of Assam Varishtha Shikshak Samman, 2026, instituted to honour the senior-most retired primary school teachers for their dedicated and invaluable contribution to the field of education.

Today, Career Counseling Programme was organized at the Auditorium Hall of Salbari Higher Secondary School and Rupahi Higher Secondary School by the Frontier Headquarters, SSB Guwahati, as part of its Community Outreach Initiative under the Vibrant Villages Programme–II (VVP-II). The programme was graced by the presence of Smti Devangana Aideo, ACS Assistant Commissioner Salbari , Shri Anupam Das , ACS Assistant Commissioner Salbari , Senior SSB officials, the Principal and faculty members of the schools. The programme aimed to provide students with valuable guidance and insights into career opportunities in Defence, educational pathways, and future prospects, enabling them to make informed decisions about their academic and professional journeys.

Today, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shri Anupam Das, ACS, Assistant Commissioner, Salbari, to review and ensure the successful implementation of the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) in Jalah Health Block.
The meeting was attended by the Medical Officers, Community Health Officers, and other health staff under Jalah Health Block, in the presence of the SDM&HO, Jalah, and the Deputy Superintendent, Jalah BPHC.

Devangana Aideo, ACS, Executive Magistrate, and Shri Anupam Das, ACS, Executive Magistrate, along with officials from Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology Departments, conducted a joint inspection of petrol pumps under Salbari Sub-Division to ensure compliance with prescribed rules, standards and consumer protection measures.

Today, an Emergency Meeting on the implementation of the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP) was held at the Office Chamber of the SDM & HO, Jalah, under the chairmanship of Shri Manash Jyoti Malakar, ACS, I/c Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Salbari.

The meeting was attended by the SDM & HO Jalah, Deputy Superintendent, Jalah BPHC/CHC, and all Medical Officers and health staff of Jalah BPHC/CHC, with discussions focused on strengthening the effective implementation of NTEP and ensuring adherence to prescribed guidelines for TB detection, testing and referral.

Today, on 16th August 2026, Sok Divas was held in the Conference Hall of Office of the SDO(C), Salbari, in the presence of Shri Manash Jyoti Malakar, ACS, I/c Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Salbari, Assistant Commissioners, Heads of Departments and Officials of O/o-SDO(C), Salbari to honor the innocent lives lost in the tragic 2004 Dhemaji bomb blast and other victims of militant violence. The attendees observed a one-minute silence in memory of those who lost their lives, followed by taking a solemn pledge to stand united against terrorism, reject violence, and actively work toward peace and harmony in the state.

Joining the nationwide celebrations, Salbari Sub-Divisional Administration celebrated the 80th Independence Day with immense patriotic fervour at Salbari College Playground today.
Begum Akrata Ahmed, Hon'ble Executive Member BTC attended the celebration as the Chief Guest and hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Shri Manash Jyoti Malakar, ACS, I/c Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Salbari and Shri Debasish Kayastha, APS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Salbari.
The flag-hoisting was followed by a parade presented by contingents of the Personnel from Assam Police , 54 Bn SSB Personnel and school students. Students from various schools presented patriotic songs, traditional folk dances and cultural performances.
Delivering the Independence Day address, Begum Aktara Ahmed highlighted the importance of unity in diversity and the need to uphold the democratic values and cultural diversity of the nation. She also highlighted the major achievements of Bodoland. The programme was also attended by Shri Thaneswar Basumatary, Hon'ble MLA 41-Manas LAC, Shri Diganta Goyari, Hon'ble MCLA BTC, Shri Manas Das, ACS , Secretary to BTC, Delegation from Bhutan and other dignitaries, heads of departments, district administration officials, police personnel, students, teachers and members of the public.

Today, Officials of the Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Salbari, along with Heads of Departments of Salbari, attended the screening of videos on “Vibhajan Ki Vibhishika” and observed two minutes of silence in remembrance of the victims of Partition at the Conference Hall, O/o SDO(C), Salbari.

The programme was organised as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and in solemn remembrance of the sacrifices and suffering associated with the Partition of India.
