| DRUG-RELATED OFFENCES (PHASE 😎

Ongoing Police operations targeting illegal drug activity across Samoa continue to progress, with further developments recorded.

As a result of recent Police raids and enforcement efforts, more individuals have been charged in relation to alleged drug-related offences. These include offences such as the possession of methamphetamine, ma*****na, live ammunition, and drug-related utensils.

All matters are being progressed in accordance with the law, and those charged will appear before the Courts in due course.

The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services remains firm in its zero-tolerance approach and continues to prioritise the safety of our communities, families, and children.

Police will continue to take action against illegal drug activity and provide updates where appropriate.

| The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services proudly extend heartfelt gratitude to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) for being the major sponsor of the Malu o Samoa Longboat and Australian Defense Force for their continuous support throughout our campaign in the 64th Independence Celebration Longboat Competition 2026. Your partnership has been a cornerstone of our participation and success.

We also sincerely acknowledge the Wesley Bookshop - SAMOA for their generous contribution in painting the longboat and preparing banners that carried our message to continuously campaign against Illegal Drugs.

Our sincere thanks go to those who have assisted us in countless ways: SSAB APIA SAMOA, Bluebird Lumber and Hardware, Sai Motors, GM Bakery, Taumeasina Hideaway, Great Motor, MS Clubs and Supt. Sefo Pati. Your contributions ensured that our crew was equipped and supported at every stage.

Special thanks are extended to the Reverends who offered spiritual guidance and encouragement to the crew. To our unsung heroes; the support services who ensured our oarsmen were well-nourished and cared for during this demanding journey.

We pay tribute to our coach and mentor, Vaimasenuu Zita Martel, whose unwavering dedication from the very first day of training has inspired the Malu o Samoa Crew and strengthened the leadership of our skipper. Her guidance has been invaluable in shaping discipline, resilience and unity.

Finally, we acknowledge every other longboat crew who took part in this year’s competition. Your camaraderie and sportsmanship made this experience truly memorable, especially as this marks the first time in many years that we have rejoined the fun.

To families of Le Malu o Samoa, Faafetai Faafetai tele lava.

Good morning | When you see the strength of our police officers, some often forget the hidden engine that keeps everything running – the support service officers.

- They fix the vehicles before they hit the road.
- They manage the records, so cases don’t vanish into thin air.
- They keep communications flowing so officers aren’t left talking to themselves.
- They feed those in line so operation can never fall apart
- And those behind making sure we wear our proud uniform professionally

Without them, our frontline strength would be like a car without fuel – oh my gotch, but going nowhere fast!

Big Faamalo to our unsung heroes – the quiet champions who make sure the uniformed heroes can shine. Next time you see a police officer, remember! there’s a whole team standing right behind them.

Fa’afetai tele lava to our support services. You may not wear the badge on the front line, but you carry the weight of the mission every single day.
