[๐†๐จ๐ฏโ€™๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐’๐ž๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ญ]: The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Tiโ€™amamana Matalฤ“ Capt. Foetutasi Faโ€™amausili as General Manager of the Samoa Ports Authority for the next three years.

Tiโ€™amamana was Port Master at the authority since 2022, an Assistant Chief Executive officer position overseeing the Maritime Division of the Authority.

He has served in both Samoa and overseas for 40 years.
His resume reflects an extraordinary work history, during which, from 1986 to 1990, he served with the Samoa Police as Chief Navigation Officer for the Nafanua.

Then, from 1990 to 1994, he was a Marine Harbour Pilot โ€“ Assistant Harbour Master with the Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Shipping Division, for the government of Samoa.

From 1994 to 1998, he was Senior Captain and Foreign-Going Deck Officer for Samoa at the Samoa Shipping Corporation Limited and the Pacific Forum Line here in Apia.

He was Assistant Port Administrator, Marine Operations Supervisor at the Ports of Auckland Limited, Onehunga Wharf, Auckland, New Zealand, from 1998 to 2001.

Then in 2001, Tiโ€™amamana was Operations Manager, Maritime Self-Employed Subcontractor, in Sydney, Australia, and Indep MO USA.
He holds a Masterโ€™s of Business Administration in Maritime Operations from the University of Plymouth, England, UK, and a Bachelor of Science [Honors] degree in Maritime Operations from the same university.

And obtained an International Diploma [Harbourmasters], IBC Lloydโ€™s Academy, London, UK.

He also holds a Marine Pilot [Nautical | Navigation] and a Master Mariner [Nautical | Navigation] from the Royal Australian Navy.

The new General Manager is from the village of Gagaemalae in Foailuga, Malie, Lepea, and Asau, Savaiโ€™i.

We are thrilled to welcome the magnificent NORWEGIAN SPIRIT to the Port of Apia today, Thursday, May 7th, 2026!

The vessel has an overall length of 268.29m and is on a day-long visit to our shores.
- Arrival (ETA): 0600HRS (07:00H)
- Departure (ETD): 1700HR
- Guests (PAX): 1,956
- Crew: 863

This port visit is supported by a wide array of local partners and operators to ensure a safe and memorable experience for all guests and crew:
- Port Agent: Samoa Global Shipping Services (SGSS) is serving as the cruise ship agent.
- Organized Excursions: Samoa Scenic Tours is acting as the official ground handler for the ship's organized tours, utilizing 18 buses for island excursions.
- Local Tours: We have approved 20 private tour operators to be present at the port, offering various island experiences.
- Stall Vendors: 13 local handicraft stall vendors are set up on-port for the day.
- Transportation: 40 registered taxi drivers are operating from the Lady Naomi Terminal.

To extend our warm Samoan hospitality to all 1,952 guests and 863 crew members, the on-port entertainment group was EFKS Fagaliโ€™i Youth.

The Seabourn Pursuit is 170m long, carrying 217 passengers and 235 crew members. The vessel arrived this morning at 6:00 AM and is scheduled to depart at 5:00 PM. Betham Brothers Enterprise (BBE) is the main port agent handling the visit.

- Entertainment: The EFKS Saleimoa Youth are providing a Samoan welcome and on-port entertainment.

Today, the Samoa Ports Authority was honored to welcome the beautiful MS Oceania Vista to Apia Port!

Arrival & Departure: She arrived this morning at 7:00 AM and is set to depart at 5:00 PM (1700 HRS).

The day began with a wonderful welcoming performance by AUTALAVOU โ€“ EFKS MANUNU, setting a vibrant tone for the visit. We were also delighted to host a pleasant plaque presentation at 10:00 AM with the Captain and crew, the Samoa Tourism Authority, and the main cruise agent, Samoa Global Shipping Services.

To bid farewell, the EFKS Vailoa Tai, Faleata Dance Group will provide entertainment before the ship sails!
