The service was held at Samoa Christian Congregational Church in Matautu, Falelatai — the village of His Highness, Samoa’s Head of State.

Alongside Australian High Commissioner to Samoa, Will Robinson, the Governor-General and Mr Beckett were warmly welcomed by Reverend Semikueva Malala Su’a, Church Spokesperson Lupematasila Nanai Faʻamanū Ivara, and the church congregation.

At lunch with Their Highnesses following, the conversation underscored Australia and Samoa’s deep cooperation on development, engagement across the Pacific and Australia’s strong ties with the Samoan community.

The Governor-General and Mr Beckett have arrived in Samoa for their first official visit.

They were warmly welcomed to Apia by Samoa’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molio’o, and Australia’s High Commissioner to Samoa, H.E. Will Robinson.

Upon arrival, the Governor-General was formally received with a Royal Guard of Honour by the Samoa Police Service, accompanied by the Royal Samoa Police Band, which included members of the Royal Australian Navy Band.

At the invitation of the Government of Samoa, they will join the community in marking 64 years of independence at Independence Anniversary celebrations. They will also visit organisations working across health, gender equality, development, and climate resilience, highlighting the ways Australians and Samoans are working together to strengthen the 🇦🇺🇼🇸 partnership and the Pacific region.

🇼🇸Samoan CrossFit coach and athlete Brandon Sefo recently sat down with ABC Pacific - That Pacific Show to share his journey and the growth of the sport in Samoa through Crossfit FatuToa, Samoa’s first CrossFit affiliate.

Brandon was in Australia to compete at the Torian Pro CrossFit comp over the weekend in the Pro Pairs Male division alongside fellow Samoan Xavier Martel.

In a field stacked with elite athletes from across Australia and New Zealand, only the top eight teams advanced to the finals. Brandon and Xavier earned one of those spots.

Among a sea of Australian and New Zealand flags, the lone Samoan flag made it all the way to the final floor.

Malo lava Brandon and Xavier!

Australia is investing $2 million (WST) to continue our support of Samoan Civil Society Organisations for the next two years.

We’re proud to support Samoan institutions as they strengthen access to quality health and education services, prevent and respond to family and gender-based violence, and increase economic participation for people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.

Australian support is delivered through the – Human Development for All Program (Tautua). To find out more on Tautua, go to www.tautuapartnership.ws

Tackling organised crime isn’t just a law enforcement effort. Every person in the community, including you, has an important role to play.

That’s why today at the Pacific Transnational Crime Summit in Fiji, we supported the launch of Pacific Watch, a community-led approach helping protect the region from organised crime.

You know your community best. If something feels out of place, trust your instincts and take notice.

👀 Recognise. Be the community’s eyes and ears.

🧠Remember. Safely note what you saw or heard. Details matter.

📱Report. Tell Pacific Watch or someone you trust, like a church or community leader.

When communities come together and share what they see, small actions can make a real difference.

📸 Pics or it didn’t happen ♻️

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment kicked off National Environment today with National Clean Up Day. To show Australia's support for a cleaner, greener, and healthier Samoa, the Australian High Commission walked along the sea wall picking up rubbish.

National Clean Up Day is a good reminder for everyone to treasure the pristine natural environment we have been gifted.
