🔎 Viêm tử cung ở cún thường được chia thành thể hở và thể kín, tùy vào tình trạng đóng hay mở của cổ tử cung.
Ở thể hở, cổ tử cung mở nên dịch mủ trong tử cung có thể thoát ra ngoài qua â.m h.ộ. Đây là dấu hiệu khá dễ nhận biết, đặc biệt khi bé xuất hiện dịch tiết bất thường, có thể kèm mùi hôi.
Trong khi đó, thể kín khó phát hiện hơn. Cổ tử cung đóng khiến dịch mủ không thể thoát ra ngoài mà tiếp tục tích tụ trong tử cung. Khi lượng dịch tăng lên, tử cung có thể giãn lớn, khiến vùng bụng của bé chướng và to hơn.
⚠️ Nhưng dấu hiệu này thường bị các sen nhầm là… tăng cân
Chỉ khi được đưa đi khám, bác sĩ mới có thể xác định được nguyên nhân thật sự là do viêm tử cung âm thầm gây ra.
Ngoài bụng phình to bất thường, cún bị viêm tử cung có thể xuất hiện các dấu hiệu như mệt mỏi, bỏ ăn, uống nhiều nước, đi tiểu nhiều, sốt hoặc có những thay đổi bất thường khác về sức khỏe.
Vì vậy, nếu cún của bạn chưa triệt sản và có dấu hiệu như bụng to bất thường hoặc thay đổi về ăn uống, sinh hoạt, đừng vội mừng là bé đang tăng cân. Hãy đưa bé đi kiểm tra sớm sẽ giúp phát hiện nguyên nhân và điều trị kịp thời nếu có vấn đề sức khỏe. 🩺

🚨 A SWOLLEN BELLY DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN WEIGHT GAIN: IT COULD BE PYOMETRA
Bơ is currently being treated at Vets4Pets for pyometra, a serious uterine infection involving pus buildup.
🔎 In dogs, pyometra is generally classified into two types: open and closed, depending on whether the cervix is open or closed.
With open pyometra, the cervix remains open, allowing pus and infected discharge from the uterus to flow out through the v***a. This can make the condition easier to notice, especially when there is abnormal discharge, sometimes accompanied by an unpleasant odor.
With closed pyometra, however, the condition can be much harder to detect. Since the cervix is closed, the infected fluid cannot drain out and continues to accumulate inside the uterus. As the amount of fluid increases, the uterus can become enlarged, causing the abdomen to look swollen and distended.
⚠️ But this swollen belly can easily be mistaken for… weight gain.
Only a veterinary examination can determine what is actually causing the abdominal enlargement and whether pyometra is involved.
Besides an unusually swollen abdomen, dogs with pyometra may also show signs such as lethargy, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, fever, or other changes in their usual behavior and health.
So, if your female dog has not been spayed and you notice an unusually swollen belly or changes in her eating habits or daily behavior, don’t simply assume she’s gaining weight. Have her checked by a veterinarian as soon as possible to identify the underlying cause and start appropriate treatment if needed. 🩺
