Ministry of External Affairs of India is organizing the 89th edition of the Know India Programme (KIP) for young Persons of Indian Origin (PIO). This flagship initiative aims to connect the Indian diaspora youth with their ethnic roots and showcase the rich cultural heritage of India and its recent spectacular developmental efforts. This upcoming edition includes a special opportunity to participate in a high-profile national dialogue.

Age eligibility: Participants have been grouped into two cohorts based on age, for Scholars and Innovators: 18–23 years & for Young Professionals: 24-28 years

Programme duration: 15th - 29th September 2026
Application deadline: 27th August 2026

Ngày 18/8, Tổng Lãnh sự quán Ấn Độ tại TP.HCM đã tham dự Lễ Công bố Triển lãm Công nghệ Quốc tế (iTECH EXPO 2026), do Hội Tin học TP.HCM (HCA) tổ chức. Được khởi xướng từ năm 2024, iTECH EXPO đã dần khẳng định vị thế trong cộng đồng công nghệ trong nước và quốc tế. Với chủ đề năm nay "New Tech – Innovation Unleashed", sự kiện đã công bố quy mô và các hoạt động nổi bật của iTECH EXPO 2026, dự kiến diễn ra từ ngày 30/9 đến 2/10/2026. 🇮🇳🤝🇻🇳

On 18 August, the Consulate General of India in HCMC attended the Announcement Ceremony of the International Technology Exhibition (iTECH EXPO 2026), organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA). First launched in 2024, iTECH EXPO has steadily established its standing within the domestic and international tech communities. Under this year's theme, "New Tech – Innovation Unleashed," the event unveiled its updated scale and key activities for iTECH EXPO 2026, scheduled to take place from September 30 to October 2, 2026. 🇮🇳🤝🇻🇳

The Consulate hosted a reception on the occassion of our 80th Independence Day on 18 August 2026. We were honoured by the presence of HE Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc , Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City as the Chief Guest. We are also grateful to Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Le Van Phuoc, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee of An Giang Province for gracing us with their presence.

We also wish to convey special thanks to Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City (VIFA) for preparing a special documentary on India-Vietnam that was aired on Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station on 15th August.

We also wish to thank all Vietnamese friends and well wishers for joining us in the celebration.

Today, HCMC Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) and Vietnam India Friendship Association (VIFA) HCMC celebrated India's 80th Independence Day, highlighting the strong solidarity and historic friendship between Vietnam and India. Chairman VIFA Dr. Huynh Thanh Lap and CGI HCMC spoke at the event, noting the deep-rooted civilisational ties between the two countries spanning Buddhism, trade and culture and expressing confidence that the bilateral relationship will continue to grow through government, business, and people-to-people exchanges. The event also included cultural performances by Indian and Vietnamese students as well as Vietnamese artists.

Tiến sĩ Huỳnh Thành Lập - Chủ tịch VIFA và Tổng Lãnh sự Ấn Độ tại TP.HCM đã phát biểu tại sự kiện, ghi nhận những mối liên kết văn minh lâu đời giữa hai quốc gia bao trùm các lĩnh vực Phật giáo, thương mại và văn hóa, đồng thời bày tỏ sự tin tưởng rằng mối quan hệ song phương sẽ tiếp tục phát triển thông qua các hoạt động giao lưu của chính phủ, doanh nghiệp và nhân dân hai nước. Celebrating India's 80th Independence Day! Today, CGI HCMC hosted a flag-hoisting ceremony featuring wonderful cultural performances from the Indian community and Vietnamese friends. The winning entries for the “India in My Heart' contest for photography and videography were also revealed -congratulations to everyone who participated. Additionally, the top performers in the Bharat Ko Janiye (Know India) Quiz from Southern Vietnam were rewarded during the event.

Các tác phẩm đoạt giải trong cuộc thi nhiếp ảnh và video 'Ấn Độ trong trái tim tôi' cũng đã được công bố - xin chúc mừng tất cả các bạn đã tham gia. Sự kiện mang đến nhiều hoạt động thú vị như vẽ Henna, trò chơi về Bollywood, Yoga và chiếu phim Nữ hoàng Padmaavat, thu hút hơn 300 bạn sinh viên tham dự.

Today, the Consulate General of India in HCMC participated in a special cultural exchange event to mark the 80th Anniversary of Indian Independence, organised by Ho Chi Minh City Open University. The event featured a vibrant mix of activities including Henna painting, Bollywood themed games, Yoga and a screening of Padmaavat— drawing an enthusiastic crowd of over 300 students.
