On 05 September 2026, H.E. Ambassador Md. Lutfor Rahman paid the farewell call on His Excellency Mr. Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, at his office to mark the completion of his tenure in Ha Noi. The meeting was marked by profound warmth and a shared commitment to elevating the longstanding friendship and multifaceted partnership between Bangladesh and Viet Nam.

The two sides reviewed major bilateral achievements, outlined strategic economic targets, and coordinated on high-level visits and regional cooperation frameworks. They reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and Viet Nam, with particular emphasis on increasing bilateral trade to US$2 billion, strengthening economic relations and streamlining tourism cooperation, and exploring new areas of partnership.

Today, August 5th, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Ha Noi, Viet Nam, has observed the "July Mass Uprising Day", marking the second anniversary of the historic victory for democracy.

We pay our deepest tributes to the martyrs—whose supreme sacrifices paved the way for a “New Bangladesh”. We also express our profound solidarity with the thousands of “July Warriors” who were injured or targeted during the struggle.

To commemorate this day, the Embassy hosted a special program featuring: reading out of messages, a photo exhibition of the July-August uprising, a screening of the documentary - “Eyes that Speak”, open discussion and special prayers for the martyrs and the injured.

Let us renew our pledge to build a discrimination-free, just, and democratic nation as envisioned by our martyrs.
