Thank you, St. Thomas and St. John for another wonderful VIDA weekend! A total of 480 seniors received a free bag of fresh, local produce from our local farmers! Our VIDA team worked diligently, going above and beyond their own duties to ensure the success of this program.

Special thanks goes to Marketing Director Shantel Douglas and Marketing Program Manager Maxine Richards all other valued VIDA staff members who assisted on all three islands for their efforts during this initiative. Heartfelt gratitude also goes to Sejah Farm of the Virgin Islands and Virgin Islands WIC Program for partnering with us and to all local farmers who supplied the produce for our seniors.

The senior fresh produce distributions were funded by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP).

After taking some time to rest and recuperate, the VIDA team is thrilled to be back, celebrating the culmination of last weekend's festivities! Thank you to everyone who made the St. Thomas/St. John Agriculture Fair one to remember. This was an amazing opportunity to connect with our community under the theme "Keeping Agriculture Alive in 2025". The fair had a great turnout with fairgoers goers enjoying a day packed with entertainment from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to include the Gospel Extravaganza, Reemah, live steel pan music, bamboula dancers, coal pot lighting contests, mokojumbies, and more!

Thank you once again to our sponsors: USVI Office of the Governor, Department of Tourism, VI Port Authority, VI Economic Development Authority, VI Lottery, Casino Control Commission, and AARP! This also could not have been done without local farmers, vendors, entertainers and all others who partnered with us to coordinate the fair! Special thanks to Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, Senator Hubert Fredericks, Senator Ray Fonseca, and Apostle Dr. Gladstone Hazel for speaking at our opening ceremony. Lastly, huge thanks to VIDA staff for all of their hard work and dedication to making this fair happen!

St. John Seniors! Please be reminded that VIDA will be distributing bags of fresh, local produce to all pre-approved seniors today, November 24, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Cruz Bay, St. John (near the Taxi band stand). This distribution is only for seniors who are already registered. Please have a valid ID. Proxies are allowed for seniors who cannot retrieve their bag.
