INDIGO WORKSHOP w/ Yemaya Jones

Yemaya Jones, premier textile artist and longtime St. Croix resident, introduces you to the art of indigo dyeing on cotton. Indigo (Indigofera tinctoria), once grown on St. Croix, is native to tropical West Africa and elsewhere on the continent. It was introduced and cultivated in many other areas of the world, where ancient peoples appreciated its spiritual, medicinal, and artistic value.
