The Department of Health functions as both the state regulatory agency and the territorial public health agency for the U.S. As set forth by the Virgin Islands Code, Titles 3 and 19, the Department of Health (DOH) has direct responsibility for conducting programs of preventive medicine, including special programs in Maternal and Child Health, Family Planning, Environmental Sanitation, Mental Healt

h, and Drug and Substance Abuse Prevention. DOH also is responsible for health promotion and protection, regulation of health care providers and facilities, and policy development and planning, as well as maintaining the vital statistics for the population. DOH provides Emergency Medical Services, issues birth and death certificates, performs environmental health services, and conducts health research and surveys. The Department is also responsible for regulating and licensing health care providers and facilities, and assumes primary responsibility for the health of the community in the event of a disaster.

A special thank you to St. Croix Senator Novelle E. Francis Jr. and Senator Kenneth "Kenny" Gittens for visiting the 2026 USVI Health & Wellness Fair today at Central High School.

Both senators took time to tour the fair, meet healthcare providers and community partners, and lead by example by completing their biometrics screenings.

Senator Francis even joined a few of our young participants for some exercises, reminding us that healthy habits can start at any age!

We appreciate their support in helping shine a spotlight on the importance of preventive care, early detection, and healthy living. When community leaders prioritize their health, they encourage others to do the same.

Services Continue Through Friday! USVI Health & Wellness Fair

Thank you, St. Croix for allowing us to provide you services to help on your health journey. Just three days left to receive essential health screenings FREE!

We're providing children's physicals, sports physicals, vaccinations, adult physicals, Pap smear, HPV screening, prostate screening, blood pressure and glucose testing and more.

You can find us at the St. Croix Central High School gymnasium and DOOR OPEN at 9AM.
