Please be advised that we are issuing a RED FLAG WARNING June 8 and 9th until 9:00 pm both days.
we are expecting winds 10-20 mph with gusty winds up to 35mph. Please refrain from burning outside debris.

The United States Wildland Fire Service has recommended to the Ramah Chapter President to implement Stage 1 Fire Restrictions effective June 2, 2026.

IMPLEMENTATION OF STAGE 1 FIRE RESTRICTION

With the support of Governor Kucate and the Zuni Tribal Council, this is a notification to our Zuni community that effective immediately, we are now in Stage 1 Fire Restrictions throughout the Zuni Reservation. Please read the attached notification entirely.

Please remember no burning outside or fireworks allowed. Traditional outside ovens for cooking and use of gas/propane grills are allowed. Water down your ashes especially on windy days.

All issued burn permits have been revoked, DO NOT BURN

Please help us welcome our new firefighters to the United States Wildland Fire Service. These individuals have completed the basic Wildland fire training. Today they implemented the knowledge they gained in the classroom during the field exercise.

Special thanks to all our fire staff (administration staff, Engines personnel and fuels program) for instructing, coordination, ex*****on of the training session, medical scheduling and red cards profiles. I truly appreciate everyone pitching in to make this a success!

Our Zuni Hotshot Crew has successfully completed their three day National Interagency Hotshot Crew Readiness Review!

Excellent job to all those involved! We are very proud of our hotshot crew!

Next step is to become national available and undergo multiple peer reviews for type 1 re-Certification by end of the year!
