Goodhue County Cooperative Electric Association Goodhue County Cooperative Electric Association is a member owned electric cooperative in Southeastern Minnesota.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer About the Cooperative
Bringing electricity to our rural farms and homes was the challenge Goodhue County Cooperative Electric assumed in 1936 and continues to meet today. Farmers were beginning to demand electric service. Electricity would give them a much better and more profitable way of life and would take much of the drudgery out of farming and housekeeping.

UPDATE; The crew had to shut off the rest of the feeder in order to safely make repairs. That included another 50 members West/SW of Kenyon.

We have around 70 members experiencing an outage south of our Kenyon substation. Crew is being dispatched and will work to get this restored as quickly as safely possible. Thank you for your patience.

Members who are supplied from our Lena Substation (Zumbrota, Cherry Grove, Pine Island areas) that have experienced some blinking lights or flickering; the cause was the transmission line feeding that substation. We don’t have a cause from Xcel (owner of that line), but we believe the issue has been resolved. Thank you!

Weathering Every Challenge: A Photo Tribute to Lineworkers in All Seasons

Electric cooperative line crews are hard at work at all hours and in all temperatures to keep the lights on no matter what the elements bring. Ahead of Lineworker Appreciation Day, NRECA asked co-ops to share photos of their line crews in all seasons. See the wide range of ways in which lineworkers navigate Mother Nature's extremes.

These are just predictions, but we want everyone to be prepared. Crews will be ready to go as outages occur, however conditions such as the ones predicted often make power restoration very time consuming. We work as quickly as we safely can but these could be lengthy outages with wet, heavy snow and high winds. Please be prepared and stay safe!

🚨 Major Mid-March Blizzard! ❄️💨

Widespread impacts from the High Plains to Great Lakes through Mon.
1-2+ft snow, Rates 1-3"/hr, Winds 30-50 mph;

Whiteouts likely. Travel will be dangerous/impossible. Power outages possible.
Stay safe! Updates at weather.gov

We just had a feeder headed north from our Hader Substation trip off.
We don’t know the cause at this time but (aside from the wind) will begin work to get this restored as soon as safely possible. Thank you for your patience!
