Dear TVLS Community,

Today, the district report card was released by the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce. The report card gives parents, caregivers, community members, educators, and policymakers information about how districts and schools are performing — to celebrate successes and identify areas for improvement. The reporting system rates the district in various categories using a star system, with one (1) being the lowest possible rating and five (5) being the highest possible rating. Three (3) stars equal meeting state expectations and what is expected of students, and the rating system determines how many stars a district receives in each area based on student performance on state assessments.

I am pleased to inform you that Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools met or exceeded all rated areas on the latest report card! The district also continues to be a leader throughout Tuscarawas County and the surrounding area. Congratulations!

The report card provides stakeholders with information about student achievement, growth, measures our ability to meet the needs of our most vulnerable students, graduation rate, early literacy, and college, career, workforce, and military readiness.

The report card also provides financial details of district spending, highlighting exceptional achievement while spending less per student than the state average.

I am incredibly proud of our students, staff, and district at large! While we certainly know the report card only provides a small insight into what happens in our classrooms, fields, and stages, it speaks volumes about the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. We will continue to work hard to learn, grow, and improve our services to students, families, and the TV Community with a relentless focus on students…all that they are, and all that they can become!

The football team travels to Fairless tonight for the 49th meeting between the Trojans and the Falcons with Tusky Valley holding a 25-23 series lead. Fairless livestreams all of their home games through Hudl. You will need a subscription to access the game if you wish to view the livestream.
