APPLEGATE SEEKS RE-ELECTION FOR BOONE COUNTY COMMISSIONER
Union Township resident, Marc Applegate, has announced his intention seek re-election for Boone County Commissioner, District One, in the May 2014 Republican primary. Applegate believes his experience of serving seven years as a county commissioner and thirty years of owning and operating a family business will allow him to continue to prov
ide positive leadership and representation to the residents of Boone County. He holds a Business Degree from Montana State University. During his seven (7) years of service, Applegate has demonstrated that he can work effectively with fellow commissioners and other elected officials throughout the county, as well as various boards and agencies to make Boone County a better place to live. During this tenure, three of which were served as board president, the county has experienced tough fiscal restraints caused by both the economy and the state's efforts to control rising property taxes. Applegate worked with his fellow commissioners and other county leaders to control the county’s costs. In addition to his responsibilities as commissioner, Applegate is also the current Chairman of the Board of the Community Foundation and is serving as Treasurer of the Zionsville Rotary Club. He is also currently serving on the Boone County Drainage Board, the Boone County Solid Waste Board and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization Administrative board. He has served on the Boone County Emergency Management Board; Boone County Economic Development Board; Mapleview Advisory Board, Boone County Senior Services Foundation Board and Rotary Club board of Zionsville. As a conservative Republican, Applegate will continue to use his business skills to help run the county wisely and efficiently. If re-elected, Applegate will always consider the impact on Boone County taxpayers when making important decisions.
