Five 8th graders accepted their very prestigious art awards on the stage of Clowe's Hall at Butler University. Lauren Baker won a gold key in Scholastic for a printmaking project, Sarah Petersen won a gold key for a Stop Motion animation, and the group of Camryn Gietl, Katie O'Beirn and Emily Brown also won gold keys for a stop motion animation! Lauren's print was also selected to travel with the "Visions and Voices" exhibit! We are so proud of you for representing ZMS with your artistic talents! Congratulations, ladies!

ZMS Art Students will be selling Hotbox Pizza package deals at the Battle of the Nest game tonight at ZWEST from 5 to 7pm! $15 gets you this cute cup with a meal deal that includes a large one topping pizza, breadsticks, and two drinks. Profits will help students pay for their art trip to NYC in the spring! They make great gifts!

Eagle Fest is this Friday night from 5-7 p.m. at Jennings Field (adjacent to the high school football stadium)! If you haven't been before, it's a great family-friendly event with bounce houses, food, face painting, entertainment (dance/cheer teams, your favorite school administrators in the dunk tank, etc.) and more! Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the gate, and can be purchased in our schools' athletic offices or at Kern Bros. All proceeds go towards the Zionsville Community Schools Athletic Department's at ZMS, ZWEST & ZCHS. Hope to see you all there!

Congratulations to ZMS' Erin Goodman - Erin is the recipient of the 2015 Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program through The Lilly Endowment!

Now in its 28th year, the Endowment’s Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program gives Indiana teachers, principals, guidance counselors and school media specialists the financial support and encouragement to nurture their commitment to education. In doing so, the program seeks to strengthen Indiana schools. As educators tend to their own intellectual, emotional and physical wellbeing, they are better able to engage and challenge their students.

Each educator will receive a $10,000 grant that will support a summer project of personally and professionally fulfilling activities. The fellows represent a wide spectrum of schools across Indiana – traditional public schools, charter schools and private schools, both religiously affiliated and independent.

Erin's grant will go towards: “Art on Wheels”—embark on a six-week road trip in a vintage camper (art studio) through the eastern United States to visit art museums and create art

It’s GAME TIME! Eagle Madness, a fundraiser sponsored by the Zionsville Athletic Booster Club, is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 from 6:30-11:00p.m. at the Whitestown Community Center (on the corner of 334 and 700 E.). This 21-and-older event will include entertainment by ZMS’ own Josh Weirich and Chris Murray performing in their band ‘Groove Essential’, along with stadium-style food, beverages, a silent auction, and TVs to view all the big games that evening!
