🎃👻 Zilwaukee’s Annual Halloween Celebration & Costume Parade! 👻🎃

Today was a spook-tacular day at Zilwaukee with our annual Halloween celebration and costume parade! The smiles on the kids' faces say it all — a successful day full of spooky fun! 😄🕸️

There were lots of Halloween activities throughout the classes today.

Why did the ghost go to the party on Friday?

🎃 Halloween Reminder for Tomorrow! 🧡🖤

Tomorrow is Halloween (October 31st), and we can’t wait for a fun day at Zilwaukee!

👕 In the morning, students are encouraged to wear orange, black, or a Halloween-themed shirt.
🧛‍♀️ Costumes should not be worn to school—please have your child bring their costume in a bag to change into after lunch.
🚫 Remember, no weapons or bloody-looking items can be part of any costume. Also, leave any full face coverings at home to use on Halloween night as those are a safety hazard here at school. We want this to be a safe and fun day for everyone, without anything too scary.

💡👻 Glowing Science with Fourth Grade! 👻💡

Ms. Harper’s fourth graders lit up the lab today during a fun science experiment! Students investigated how chemical energy converts to light energy using glow sticks. Their question: What happens to the brightness of a glow stick in hot water vs. cold water? 🌡️✨

After recording their observations, they turned their glow sticks into adorable hanging ghosts — proving that science can be both educational and spook-tacular! 🎃🔬

The Detroit Lions are looking to celebrate amazing educators across Michigan — and we know Zilwaukee is full of them! 💙

The Touchdowns for Teachers program recognizes teachers who go above and beyond for their students. Winners receive special Lions experiences 🦁 and classroom grants 💰 to make their creative ideas come to life!

✨ How it works:
💬 Parents, students, staff, and community members can nominate a Zilwaukee teacher who has made a difference.
🎉 Selected teachers will be honored by the Lions and awarded funds to support classroom projects.

Let’s show everyone the heart and dedication of our Zilwaukee staff — nominate your favorite teacher today!
