🍒 Support Our Jr. Leopards and Enjoy Fresh Local Cherries! 🍒

The Zillah Jr Leopards Youth Football Cherry Fundraiser is happening now, and it's a great opportunity to support local youth athletics while enjoying delicious, freshly picked cherries from Stonemetz Orchards!

The Jr. Leopards are committed to keeping registration FREE for Zillah School District athletes in grades K-8. Fundraisers and community support help cover league fees, referee costs, insurance, equipment replacements, and other program expenses throughout the season. Here are the details so you can buy as much as you can.

🍒 $20 per large container
📅 Orders accepted through June 19
📍 Pick up July 1 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Zillah Middle School

Thank you for supporting our local athletes and helping provide opportunities for youth in our community. Together, we are building champions on and off the field.

And reminder, REGISTRATION for Fall Football is currently OPEN for all Zillah School District students in grades K-8. Sign-ups close on AUG. 18th, so don't delay!

🏀 B-Strong 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Update! 🏀

On Monday, City Council reviewed and approved the public safety and traffic plan for the upcoming B-Strong 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, taking place July 11–12 in Zillah’s historic downtown area in front of Kreiger Park.

Tonight, Mayor Scott Carmack, Councilmember Beth Husted, and City Administrator Michael Grayum met with members of the Zillah Chamber to share event details, answer questions, and discuss plans for what promises to be an incredible weekend of community pride, tourism, and basketball.

As part of the planning process, event organizers from ZillahSports will continue meeting with local businesses regarding road closures, detours, and ways to minimize impacts while maximizing the benefits of bringing hundreds of visitors to our community.

🍧🍦If you want food, we’ve got you covered! Not only will all of our restaurants be open during the tournament, food trucks will be bring some specialty desserts and other tasty treats that you won’t want to miss.

🏨 Expecting family or friends from out of town? We’ve partnered with Zillah Lakes Inn and Best Western Plus Vintage Valley Inn so participants in the tourney and their friends and family members can receive discounted lodging rates during the tournament weekend. Stay tuned for details!

We are excited to help make this another successful event and appreciate all of our businesses, residents, volunteers, and community organizations as we prepare to welcome teams and visitors from across the region to Zillah!

🇺🇸 In celebration of Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to visit the Zillah Cemetery today, where our team is here to support and welcome visitors. Staff will be on-site until 3 PM with a detailed plot map and book of names to help you find loved ones and pay your respects.

We are honored to support our community in remembering those who came before us. We hope everyone has a safe, meaningful memorial day weekend! 🇺🇸

All city offices will be closed on Monday, May 26 in honor of Memorial Day. We will reopen during normal business hours on Tuesday, May 27. We wish you all a meaningful holiday in reverence and respect for those who give their lives for our freedom.

Splash Park Update 💦

The Splash Park is open from 11:00am to 7:00pm this holiday weekend and as part of our ongoing efforts to improve the experience, staff will be installing temporary perforated rubber safety mats today in areas where water tends to collect most heavily, particularly near drains and sloped sections. These mats are intended to provide additional traction during the busy holiday weekend while we continue evaluating longer-term surface improvements.

Following the holiday, we will implement a more permanent solution where water pools near sloped areas and drains.

As always, we encourage everyone to help keep the splash park safe by:
• Walking instead of running.
• Using extra caution near drains and sloped areas.
• Considering water shoes or water socks for added traction if you are really concerned about slippage.

Special thanks to Tyson and Mark for responding quickly and helping us continue improving this great community space. We appreciate everyone’s patience, feedback, and support as we work to make the splash park as safe, fun, and enjoyable as possible for all families.
