🚒 A Day in the Life of a Firefighter 🚒
Students from the George Whittell High School Fire Science Program recently spent the day at the firehouse getting a firsthand look at what it takes to be a firefighter.
Throughout the day, the students participated in hands-on training drills, joined the crew for a workout, and even helped prepare lunch for the firefighters. From training and teamwork to daily station responsibilities, they experienced many of the duties that make up a firefighter’s day.
A special thank you to Captain Ben Pratt, Firefighter/Paramedics David Martland, Kevin Schoonmaker, Djair Sancho, Josh Wesson, Foster Saunders, and Lalo Lobato, along with Public Information Officer Michelle Turner, for taking the time to mentor and inspire the next generation of fire service professionals.
We are proud to support the George Whittell Fire Science Program and help provide students with real-world experiences that build knowledge, confidence, and a passion for public service.
Who knows? We may have spent the day training some future Tahoe Douglas firefighters! 🔥👨🚒👩🚒
