ZTFD is pleased to announce that FF Gerrit Gritters has been promoted to Lieutenant!

Since 2018, Lt. Gritters has dedicated countless hours to serving and training. He consistently seeks out new opportunities to learn and add value to our department. He ensures that our department runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

In this new role, Lt. Gritters will serve as the station 3 Lieutenant.

Last night we trained on vehicle extrication with a focus on EMS and patient care. Our firefighters encountered a training incident involving a Mass Casualty Incident involving several pediatric patients.

Crews handled the situation with extreme care and delicacy while extricating and caring for each patient.

Thank you to American Hero Towing for helping us acquire vehicles. Training like this prepares us to be efficient when real accidents happen!

This past week we said farewell to one of our own. FF Dan Lubbers has served Zeeland Township for the last 8 years! He has been a valued member of our team and we are sad to see him leave.

Dan and his wife Ashley are expecting and moving out of the area. Although we wish they would stay in Zeeland Township, we wish them all the best on their future endeavors!

Help us thank FF Lubbers for his selfless service to our department and our community!
