Thursday evening we had the opportunity to train alongside Zeeland Township on ice rescue scenarios, strengthening our skills and capabilities while learning from each other.

Then on Saturday, Zeeland Fire held additional training on a local pond, where our members rotated through different rescue scenarios and techniques to keep our team sharp and ready.

Huge thanks to everyone who participated and helped make both trainings a success—training like this makes a difference when seconds count. ❄️🚒🧊

It is with great sadness that Zeeland Fire Rescue mourns the passing of Zeeland Twp. Firefighter Theo Kok.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Kok family and all who were blessed to know him. Rest easy, brother — we’ll take it from here. 💙🔥

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and fellow Firefighter, Theodore (Theo) Kok.

Theo went home to be with the Lord on October 26, 2025, after courageously facing brain cancer. He touched so many lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering faith. Theo had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved — his presence brightened every room and his friendship was a blessing to all who knew him.

He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have shared life’s moments with him. Please keep his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
