Have You Thought About Running for School Board?

Our school board members are the unsung heroes of our communities. It’s so important to have people running for election who will represent our interest in public education.

The following positions will be open this year. The filing deadline is July 21, so you have time to think about who you know who could make a difference by serving, or if you want to run yourself!

West Ottawa: Four positions, four-year term.
Zeeland Public: Three positions, six-year term.
Holland Public: Two positions, six-year term.

See the link in the comments to find out how to run!

When ZAAC began back in 2023 as the first organizing group responding to Ottawa Impact, it represented District 4 (Jacob Bonnema’s district). District 2 was busy with the recall, and District 3 is Doug Zylstra’s district, so neither developed a formal group.

Currently, our focus is on making sure residents have the information they need to be involved and active citizens. Since there is overlap between Districts 2, 3 and 4, we’ve decided to collaborate and put all three under the ZAAC umbrella.

We’ll be updating the ZAAC website soon to reflect these changes, and that’s where you’ll be able to find what’s going on in your district!
