Over the past two weeks of Early Voting, one thing has stood out more than anything else… the PEOPLE.
In a time when election workers are often criticized in the media and the loudest negative voices seem to get all the attention, it has been refreshing to hear directly from the real voters walking through our doors every single day.
We’ve heard comments like:
• “I appreciate y’all.”
• “You guys are doing a great job.”
• “Thanks for being so helpful.”
• “Thanks for being patient with me.”
And my personal favorite so far:
“I know you don’t hear it often, but I want you to know that I really appreciate what you’re doing.”
Those words matter.
Our poll workers and staff work long hours, deal with stressful situations, answer hundreds of questions, and do their absolute best to serve every voter professionally and respectfully. They do it not for recognition or praise—but because they care about this community and the election process.
Some people find it easy to spread negativity. But truly good people find it just as easy to share kindness, encouragement, and a little love.
To everyone who has offered a smile, patience, or a kind word these past two weeks… thank you. You probably impacted someone’s day more than you realize.
This is now the 3rd and FINAL week of Early Voting, and we encourage all voters to come experience the goodness of the electoral process and meet the awesome poll workers who work hard every day to serve this community.
And if Early Voting isn’t your thing, Election Day is Tuesday, May 19th, with polls open from 7 AM – 7 PM. Don’t worry… you’ll still get to see the amazing Election Day poll workers in action as they work hard to serve every voter who walks through the doors.
Because at the end of the day, democracy works best when people show up, participate, and treat one another with respect.
