NGA is now holding school council elections for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are a parent of a 9th grade student and would like to serve as one of our 2 parent representatives, please email NGA Principal Lindsay Busby ([email protected]) with your name and the name of your student, by Wednesday, September 2. Elections will be held the following week.

Good afternoon!

Ninth Grade Academy looks forward to welcoming you and your student to Open House on Monday, August 10, from 3-5. As you arrive, you will find the name of your student’s homeroom teacher posted on the wall of our front porch. You will also see lists of bus numbers and times posted by address on the right side of the porch. Once you enter the main entrance, look for signs to locate your homeroom teacher, and they will provide you with a packet and your schedule. From there, you can meet all of your teachers!

Lockers will be for sale for $10—cash or check only. Students who also have classes at the high school may visit there between 4-6 on the same day.

We can’t wait to see you. It’s going to be a great year!

Rising Freshmen, we hope you are enjoying your summer, and perhaps some of you may be already thinking about school supplies! It's hard to give everyone the same supply list once they get to 9th grade because everyone's schedule is so different, and we do NOT want to waste your money. However, it's pretty safe to say that you will need notebook paper, 6 folders of some kind, pens, pencils, and preferably a TI-30xs Multiview calculator. Teachers may communicate additional needs at Open House (On Monday, August 10, from 3-5 pm), but this should get you started!

Thanks to Trawick Custom Homes, our teachers were able to take a quick break from the chaos of exam week yesterday to enjoy some Coffee and Ice Cream from Coffee A Go-Go!

We are proud to announce our Educational Support Professional of the Year (ESPY) and Teacher of the Year (TOTY)!

Ms. Tante Colquitt, our ESPY winner, is our school counselor. She serves students at Ninth Grade Academy, Zebulon High School, and often Pike County Alternative Program (PCAP). She has been the counselor here at NGA for the past seven years, and with Pike County Schools in other roles many years before that!

Ms. Tara Riggs, our TOTY winner, has been a biology teacher here at NGA for 3 years, after many other years of teaching in another school system. In addition to teaching science to the students of our school, she also serves as a PCHS Flag Football and Girls Soccer coach!

We are very fortunate to have both of these ladies on the team here at NGA, working with our students!
