Our Mission: To enrich the quality of life of Muskingum County residents by conserving natural areas, providing passive and active recreational opportunities, and developing an appreciation of the natural, historical, and cultural heritage of the area. Visit us at the following locations:

Collegial Woods Trails, located on the northside of Ohio University-Zanesville and Zane State College campus

(1425-1555 Newark Road, Zanesville).

McGraw Edison Recreation Area, located on 6165 Park Lane in Perry Township. (Take Airport Road exit, head East on US 40, turn RIGHT on Spry Road, turn RIGHT on Park Lane, park entrance is on the right at the bottom of the hill).

Muskingum Recreational Trail, six miles of asphalt trail starting in Dresden. Enter at either end, or enter off of Rock Cut Road.

Mission Oaks Gardens, located on 424 Hunter Street (off of Euclid) in Zanesville.

Gale Garden, located in the historic McIntire District. Access from Charles Street or 904 Adair Avenue in Zanesville.

Joe`s Run Recreational Trail. Main entrances at Blue Ave near the middle school, and northeast off of the trail head of Collegial Woods.

John McIntire Outdoor Classroom, located at 1007 McIntire Avenue (corner of Blue Ave and McIntire Ave in the City of Zanesville).

Bailey and AEP Property (Bergin Field), located in Duncan Falls off of Route 60.

DAY 2 IS HERE! 🌿

We’re back at Zane’s Landing today and there’s a LOT happening!

First, a very important reminder: the Muskingum Valley Park District booth has FREE cotton candy and FREE popcorn! We’re not sure what happened to our employee in this picture… maybe too much cotton candy? 😂

TODAY’S SCHEDULE:

11:00 AM–1:30 PM — Old River Revival
2:00–3:00 PM — Animals We Love to Hate with Ohio Nature Education
4:00–5:00 PM — Coexisting with Urban Wildlife presented by Ohio Canid Center
6:00–7:00 PM — The Wilds

Yes, there will be LIVE ANIMALS at Riverfest today! 🦊🐾 Come check them out and learn about Ohio’s wildlife.

Plus, we’ve got vendors, food trucks, the FREE kids fishing game with prizes, and more going on throughout the day.

Bring the family, grab some popcorn or cotton candy, and come spend your Sunday at Riverfest!

DAY 2 OF Riverfest 2026 IS TOMORROW!

We had a great first day, and we’re excited to keep things going tomorrow at Zane’s Landing!

Here’s what’s happening Sunday:
10:00 AM — Festival Opens
11:00 AM–2:00 PM — Old River Revival
2:00–3:00 PM — Ohio Nature Education: Animals We Love to Hate
4:00–5:00 PM — Ohio Canid Center : Coexisting with Urban Wildlife
6:00–7:00 PM — Endangered Species Program with The Wilds

And there’s plenty for the kids, too! Stop by the Muskingum Valley Park District booth for our free kids fishing game. Kids can win a fishing pole or other small prizes!

We’ll also have FREE cotton candy and popcorn at the park district booth.

Plus, vendors, food trucks, and lots to see throughout the day.

DAY ONE OF RIVERFEST WAS AWESOME!

What a day! Thank you to everyone who came out, enjoyed the food, checked out the vendors, listened to the music, explored the park, and helped make the first day of Riverfest such a great one!

And we’re not done yet! We can’t wait to see everyone back at Zane’s Landing tomorrow for DAY TWO!
