📚✨ Investing in Literacy, Investing in Students!

RR teachers recently completed a four-day training as part of earning and maintaining their K–5 Literacy Endorsement. The training focused on systematic phonics instruction and the Science of Reading, helping educators strengthen literacy instruction and build strong foundations for student success.

⚾📣 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! Meet the Coaching Staff for the Ronald Reagan Elementary Summer Baseball Camp! 📣⚾
We're excited to introduce two outstanding baseball professionals who will be helping lead our Summer Baseball Camp and provide campers with an unforgettable experience learning the game from coaches who have competed and coached at the highest levels.
🔥 Coach Jose Suero
Physical Education Teacher – Ronald Reagan Elementary School
Head Baseball Coach – Kofa High School
Coach Suero serves as the Physical Education Teacher at Ronald Reagan Elementary School and currently leads the Kofa High School Baseball Program as Head Baseball Coach. He brings an impressive background in player development, collegiate coaching, and professional baseball.
His coaching experience includes Arizona Western College, Arlington Baptist University, DBAT Arlington, and collegiate summer baseball programs. As a former professional player, Coach Suero competed in the Mexican Baseball League, Frontier League, Atlantic League, and MLB Draft League organizations. He is also certified in Driveline Pitching Design, one of the nation's leading baseball development programs.
Coach Suero is passionate about developing student-athletes through discipline, accountability, leadership, and excellence both on the field and in the classroom. His commitment to helping young athletes reach their potential makes him an outstanding mentor for our campers.
🔥 Coach Henry Calderon
Former Professional Baseball Infielder
Coach Calderon brings over 14 seasons of professional baseball experience, including time in the Kansas City Royals organization, where he advanced to the Double-A level. Throughout his career, he played more than 1,100 professional games and accumulated over 4,500 professional plate appearances.
His experience includes both affiliated and independent professional baseball, specializing as a shortstop, third baseman, and second baseman. Coach Calderon's passion for teaching the game, combined with his professional playing experience, provides young athletes with a unique opportunity to learn the fundamentals, discipline, and mindset necessary for success both on and off the field.

Wrapping up another school year. Thank you to all are Patriot Parents for allowing us to be your partners in your child's educational journey. Today was chaotic as expected but it is always bitter-sweet to say goodbye to our students for the summer. Traditionally, many of our 6th grades don't return after the promotion ceremony. It was great to see the turn out of 6th graders that came to spend the last day with us. We also celebrated perfect attendance with two 3rd graders who each received $100 from our PTO. Not pictured is a preschooler who also had perfect attendance. Though we are all exhausted from the excitement of this week the staff is gearing up for Camp Aventura (21st Century summer school) which begins on Monday, June 1, 2026. Have a great summer everyone.
