Actualización de infraestructuras de la 3ª y 4ª Avenida

Los trabajos continúan avanzando en las mejoras pluviales y de pavimentación en el centro de Yuma, con otra semana productiva de avances en ambos proyectos.

En la 4ª Avenida, los equipos se centraron en preparar nuevas aceras. El suelo fue reacondicionado y compactado para proporcionar una base sólida para las próximas obras de hormigón. También se están realizando los últimos ajustes de nivelación mientras los equipos trabajan para conectar nuevas aceras y jardinería a las mejoras en las fachadas de las calles y las líneas de drenaje mejoradas. Si el tiempo lo permite, se espera que comiencen los vertidos en las aceras a principios de la próxima semana.

En la 3ª Avenida, Concrete Specialties está cerca de completar la fase de servicios subterráneos. Esta semana, los equipos instalaron las últimas alcantarillas y cuencas de captación incluidas en el proyecto. Estas mejoras están diseñadas para evacuar las aguas pluviales de la calzada de forma mucho más eficiente que en el sistema anterior. Con la finalización de los trabajos subterráneos, el proyecto pasará a la fase de pavimentación la próxima semana, comenzando con la recondicionación del suelo en West 3rd Avenue.

¡PROYECTO DE PISCINA COMUNITARIA DE YUMA AVANZANDO!

La ciudad de Yuma se complace en anunciar que, en una Reunión Especial el 11 de junio de 2026, el Ayuntamiento aprobó el contrato de construcción para el nuevo proyecto de la piscina comunitaria.

Tras meses de planificación, diseño, financiación y negociaciones contractuales, el Ayuntamiento aprobó un contrato con Centerre Construction por un importe de 4.758.042,00 dólares.

Durante todo el proceso, el Ayuntamiento y el personal trabajaron diligentemente para revisar los costes del proyecto, evaluar opciones y negociar condiciones que proporcionaran el mejor valor para la comunidad. Aunque la finalización del acuerdo llevó más tiempo del previsto inicialmente, ese tiempo adicional permitió al Ayuntamiento defender los intereses de los residentes de Yuma y asegurar que el proyecto avanzara de manera financieramente responsable.

Esta aprobación supone un hito importante para un proyecto que contó con el apoyo de los votantes y representa una inversión significativa en el futuro de nuestra comunidad. La nueva piscina ofrecerá oportunidades recreativas para residentes de todas las edades, apoyará actividades para jóvenes y familias, mejorará la calidad de vida y será un activo comunitario durante muchos años.

YUMA COMMUNITY POOL PROJECT MOVING FORWARD!

The City of Yuma is excited to announce that at a Special Meeting on June 11, 2026, the City Council approved the construction contract for the new community swimming pool project.

Following months of planning, design, financing, and contract negotiations, Council approved a contract with Centerre Construction in the amount of $4,758,042.00.

Throughout the process, Council and staff worked diligently to review project costs, evaluate options, and negotiate terms that would provide the best value for the community. While finalizing the agreement took longer than originally anticipated, that additional time allowed Council to advocate for the interests of Yuma residents and ensure the project moved forward in a fiscally responsible manner.

This approval marks a major milestone for a project that was supported by voters and represents a significant investment in the future of our community. The new pool will provide recreational opportunities for residents of all ages, support youth and family activities, enhance quality of life, and serve as a community asset for years to come.

We know many residents have been eagerly awaiting this moment, and we appreciate your patience and support throughout the planning process.
The City will continue to provide updates as construction timelines are finalized and work begins.

3rd & 4th Avenue Infrastructure Update

Work continues to move forward on the Downtown Yuma stormwater and paving improvements, with another productive week of progress on both projects.

On 4th Avenue, crews focused on preparing for new sidewalks. Soil was reconditioned and compacted to provide a solid foundation for the upcoming concrete work. Final grading adjustments are also underway as crews work to tie new sidewalks and landscaping into the improved street elevations and drainage flowlines. Weather permitting, sidewalk pours are expected to begin early next week.

On 3rd Avenue, Concrete Specialties is nearing completion of the underground utility phase. This week, crews installed the final manholes and catch basins included in the project. These improvements are designed to move stormwater off the roadway far more efficiently than the previous system. With underground work wrapping up, the project will transition into the paving phase next week, beginning with soil reconditioning on West 3rd Avenue.
