💦 Why Do Our Pools Close for Maintenance?

Follow Recreation Manager AJ Mosqueda as she explains one of the many ways the City of Yuma works to keep our community pools safe, clean, and ready for summer fun.

In addition to daily maintenance, our aquatics team performs monthly deep chlorination treatments at Valley Aquatic Center, Marcus Pool, and Carver Pool.

These treatments help maintain water quality, protect pool infrastructure, and ensure a safe swimming environment for everyone.

From sunscreen and hair products to heavy summer use, our pools work hard all season long—and so does our staff.

Thank you for your patience during maintenance closures as we continue caring for our facilities today for a long tomorrow.
