A Special Thank You!

The Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Dale Dumo and the Travis Manion Foundation Yuma Chapter for their generous support of our Summer Camp program.

Not only did they help sponsor local children so they could participate in camp, but Mr. Dumo is also taking time next week to visit with our campers and share his knowledge and experiences. Opportunities like these help create meaningful and memorable experiences for our youth.

We are incredibly grateful for your generosity, community spirit, and commitment to investing in the next generation. Thank you for spending part of your morning with us—we hope you enjoy your time at camp as much as we do!

Today, we celebrate the people, places, and communities that bring us together. At the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area, we have a lot to love—and a lot to be proud of.

We love the opportunity to preserve and share the stories that make Yuma unique. Through years of dedication, collaboration, and community support, we have worked to restore and protect some of Yuma's most treasured landmarks, including the historic Yuma Territorial Prison, the Colorado River State Historic Park, and the beautiful Yuma East Wetlands.

From safeguarding historic structures and creating engaging exhibits to restoring natural habitats along the Colorado River, each project reflects a commitment to honoring our past while investing in our future.

This National Loving Day, we're grateful for the staff, volunteers, partners, donors, and visitors who share our passion for preserving the places that connect us to Yuma's rich history and natural beauty.

Happy World Environment Day! 🌿

Today we celebrate the importance of protecting and preserving the natural spaces that connect our communities, wildlife, and future generations.

The stands as a remarkable example of environmental restoration along the Colorado River. Once impacted by invasive vegetation and neglect, the wetlands have been transformed into a thriving habitat for native plants, birds, pollinators, and wildlife while providing a beautiful outdoor space for the community to explore and enjoy.

From walking trails and scenic views to important conservation efforts, the wetlands remind us how restoration and stewardship can make a lasting impact on both people and nature.

This World Environment Day, we encourage everyone to take time to appreciate the beauty around us and continue supporting efforts that help preserve our environment for future generations.
