Our first day at Rocket Burger at Area 66 was a huge success thanks to all of you. We sincerely appreciate your patronage and enthusiasm. It being our "soft" opening, we learned a great deal. We learned where we need to improve. We learned that we need more staff. We apologize for our shortcomings, especially the wait time. It would be unacceptable to me to have to wait up to 2 hours to receive an order. I don't expect any of you to do the same. That being said, I've decided, after discussing with my staff, that we cannot possibly open on Sunday June 19 until we resolve some issues. I also did not anticipate the huge turnout and we are out of many food items, (Sorry we ran out of ice cream for milk shakes)
I also believe it is not beneficial to reopen until these problems are resolved. Therefore, we will be closed indefinitely until you the customer can walk in and get your meal within a reasonable amount of time. I am also aware that many elderly people cannot wait a lengthy amount of time and should not be expected to.
I want Rocket Burger to operate with efficiency and to a high standard. I could have put a splash of paint on the walls, get some used booths, tables, and chairs, and slapped up some cheap decorations to get a burger restaurant open quickly but chose not to do so. That's part of why it took so long to open. I wanted to create something on a higher level, somewhere you want to patronize regularly. And somewhere just a tiny bit special in our little town of Yucca.
I also want to put it out there that I really need another cook. Someone to work the griddle and fryer. If you're qualified, please come to the convenience store on Wednesday through Friday 10am to 5pm. Please do not message me on facebook. Please come talk to me in person.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
