On Saturday, June 6th, Sutter County employee email addresses will change from .sutter.ca.us to .gov.

The .gov designation is reserved exclusively for government organizations, which makes it easier to recognize official County communications while providing additional security protections against fraudulent websites and emails.

Moving forward, look for .gov in future email communications from Sutter County.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Your Littles will not want to miss this event. It's our Annual Let's Get Soaked Water Day with Sutter County Sheriff's Office. What a SUPER, SOAKED, FUNFILLED time with our local Deputies. A Hot Dog lunch is provided by French Whisk.

We do have a few extra Soakers if your Little does not have one. Everyone is welcome. EVERYONE MUST EXPECT TO GET WET! Because you will.

This event is the most wonderful play time between our local Law Enforcement Officers and your Littles. Building strong relationships with Law Enforcement is important for any person in a community. We enjoy fostering an environment where that can happen and will be memorable for all. Don't let the first time your Little(s) meets a Deputy be on, potentially, one of the worst days of your Little's life.

We are thankful to Sheriff Barnes and the Sutter County Sheriff's Office SED Team for participating in our vision to bring a little SUNSHINE and, of course, WATER, to the children of our community.

Adults, feel free to bring a lawn chair for your own comfort. Children of any age are welcome to attend. Please make sure they are wearing non-skid, non-slip, closed toe shoes.

PLEASE PARK AROUND THE PERIMETER OF FRENCH WHISK OR ALONG THE ROAD SHOULDERS. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN ANY OTHER LOT OR NEIGHBORING DRIVEWAYS OR EMPTY LOTS.

Remembering D-Day:

On June 6, 1944, thousands of Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most significant military operations in history. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination helped turn the tide of World War II and secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

As we remember D-Day, we honor the brave men who faced impossible odds and the countless service members who have followed in their footsteps. Their legacy serves as a reminder of the strength, resilience, and sacrifice required to defend liberty.

Today, we pause to reflect on their service and express our gratitude to all who have worn our nation's uniform.

We will never forget.

Contraband Interception:

Over the weekend, the vigilance and proactive efforts of our Correctional Officers led to the interception of contraband being passed between housing units within the jail.

After developing reasonable suspicion that contraband activity was occurring, Correctional Officers conducted surveillance and observed an attempted exchange. Officers quickly intervened and recovered the item before it could be distributed.

The substance was tested and returned a presumptive positive result for fentanyl.

This incident highlights the critical role Correctional Officers play in maintaining the safety and security of our facility. Their attention to detail and commitment to protecting both staff and inmates help prevent dangerous substances from entering and circulating within the jail.

Great work by our Correctional Officers for staying alert and keeping our facility safe.
