Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services Siskiyou County OES is committed to the protection of lives, health and property of Siskiyou County residents when disaster strikes.

OES strives to accomplish this goal by maintaining a state of readiness utilizing the four phases of emergency management. The SOES intends to create a limited public forum devoted exclusively to its postings, and comments from public members should be relevant to the subject matter of the post they are r

esponding to. This page publishes news and information about the SOES in our daily activities, emergency incidents, and disasters. It allows us to share with the public when public safety concerns affecting Siskiyou County. We encourage public comments. A heat wave will bring hot temperatures to parts of SW Oregon and northern California Sunday through Tuesday.

High temperatures of 90-100F with some west side valleys 100-105F and 105-110F in western Siskiyou County will bring levels of HeatRisk to moderate to major levels. Those sensitive to heat or without adequate cooling and/or hydration could experience heat-related illnesses.

Are you ready Siskiyou?!

We are conducting a countywide test of the ReadySiskiyou-Alerts emergency notification system on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

Residents who are signed up for ReadySiskiyou-Alerts may receive a text message, email, phone call, and/or TTY notification based on their selected alert preferences.

This test helps ensure the system is working properly and allows residents to confirm their contact information is up to date before an emergency occurs. Taking a few minutes to verify your information today can help ensure you receive critical notifications when they matter most.

If you do not receive the test alert on June 16, we encourage you to review your account information or register for alerts at alerts.readysiskiyou.gov.
