🟢 Resolution No. 2026-145 - Approving the sale of specified City-owned parcels to the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA), for the construction of a new east side transit center in the Ypsilanti Downtown district - Passed, amended to encourage renegotiation with neighboring municipalities to expand AAATA Board representation.

We're very excited to announce that we are now taking applications for residents to live at Avalon’s first building in Ypsilanti, 206 North Washington St.! The form is online at avalonhousing.org/apply.
The income requirements are $1,650 - $4,840 monthly ($19,800 - $58,140 annually) for a one-person household, and a total of $1,650 - $5,500 monthly ($19,800 - $66,480 annually) for a two-person household.
Rent will be $825/month, including utilities, and the first move-in is anticipated for Oct. 1. Applicants will be selected by random lottery. Applications are due June 30.

Last weekend, the Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Festival returned to Riverside Park for its 27th year, and as always, it did not disappoint.

The festival brought together 81 Michigan breweries pouring 497 unique beers across 80 different styles, giving attendees plenty to explore and enjoy!

From great beer and live entertainment to connecting with friends and neighbors, it was another fantastic celebration of Michigan’s craft beer community 🍻!

City Hall and all other city administrative offices will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.

City offices will re-open for normal business hours on Monday, June 22nd. Curbside trash, recycling, and yard waste collection will continue as normally scheduled.

The City of Ypsilanti hopes all residents have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend as we celebrate the end of slavery in the United States.

Today the City of Ypsilanti was proud to be a part of the groundbreaking for Home for Healing, Youth Arts Alliance's new community arts studio that will be calling 326 E. Michigan Avenue its new home, a previously vacant and city-owned lot.

Youth Arts Alliance has been providing healing-focused arts education and programming since 2013, as they now look forward to Home for Healing becoming an intergenerational space for growth, learning, and acceptance in our community.

Congratulations to Youth Arts Alliance for the start of a new chapter!

The City of Ypsilanti Clerk's Office is recruiting election workers for the upcoming Primary and General Elections!

You must be at least 16-years old and complete the 2-hour online training. Election workers are paid $19 an hour and will work during the elections on August 4th and November 3rd. Those interested can contact the City Clerk's Office at 734-483-1100 or [email protected] and submit an application.
