In partnership with the Ypsilanti Police Advisory Commission (YPAC), the Ypsilanti Police Department recently conducted a survey of community members with whom they interacted, regarding their experiences with officers.

The survey ran from April 1, 2025, to July 1, 2025, with plans to conduct another survey in the near future.

YPAC works to strengthen the relationship between community members and the Ypsilanti Police Department. It advocates new ideas, programs, and methods to improve those relations. As many of you are aware, we have recently experienced a series of break-ins in our Downtown and Depot Town areas. Last night, it occurred again, and following one of the incidents, the individual, known to the police and released on bond, was apprehended. The suspect is now being held at the Washtenaw County Jail. The City of Ypsilanti is grateful to the Ypsilanti Police Department for its work in solving these cases. While we understand its continuation is frustrating, we appreciate your patience as we continue to work to resolve these matters.
