I CANNOT EXPRESS THE JOY THAT I FEEL AS I MAKE THIS POST!!!! Alyshia Dyer WORKED HER BUTT OFF FOR 2 YEARS…SACRIFICING IT ALL…MONEY AND FRIENDS THAT TURNED THEIR BACK ON HER! BUT GOD REWARDED HER FOR HER PAIN!!!! SHE DESERVES EVERY BIT OF THIS WIN!!!! I AM SOOOOOO PROUD OF HER!!!! YALL, WE HAVE A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN FOR WASHTENAW COUNTY…THIS COUNTY HAS SPOKEN! CONGRATULATIONS, Dyer!!!! YOU DID IT!!!!

Did someone say volunteerism…maybe servant leadership?

Google photos was right on time with this memory! We had such an amazing time taking the students of Peterson-Warren Academy to partner with Habitat for Humanity - Western Wayne on a project to do a refurbishing job for a campground! But first we took the youth to Michigan State to hear from Dr. Eric Thomas, the #1 Motivational Speaker in the World! He gave so much value to the students to keep them striving for their academic goals, even if they were from the Metropolitan Detroit area and may be a first generation college student. He instilled in them hope, as he is living, breathing proof that it can be done!

There were also educational workshops for the students, chaperones, and staff, of which I conducted one re: the importance of getting to know one’s self, being honest about what you see, and then making positive moves to either change or elevate to reach your goals. The workshop was a hit! 😁 It was an all around PHENOMENAL week!

I am over the top excited, honored, and humbled to receive Activist, Actor, Author, Lawyer, and U.S. Senate (MI) Candidate, Hill Harper’s endorsement for Washtenaw County Commissioner - District 5! When we talked over breakfast a few days ago, he said to me, “Leah, I can see your light. You don’t have to convince me! Let’s do this”! My response to him… “Spirits know one another! Let’s do this”!

And now I am coming to you, my family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors to ask you to join with us and LET’S DO THIS…TOGETHER! This election is critical from DC to locally (Ypsi Twp and Augusta Twp). We can NOT afford to keep our existence as the status quo! Let’s bring about people that desire equity for ALL!
