πŸπŸš”πŸ† Back-to-Back Champions! πŸ†πŸš”πŸ
Last night, the Youngsville Police Department and the Youngsville Fire Department faced off in the annual Guns & Hoses Volleyball Tournament. It was a great event filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and community spirit.
The match was hard-fought from start to finish, and the Fire Department played an outstanding game. After a very tough battle on the court, the Youngsville Police Department was able to bring home the trophy for the second year in a row!
Congratulations to both teams for their effort, sportsmanship, and dedication. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the event and make it a success.

PUBLIC NOTICE: E-Bike Use in Youngsville
Following recent complaints about e-bike use in our community, the Youngsville Police Department wants to make sure residents understand what's legal, what's not, and how we'll be handling enforcement.
Louisiana recognizes three classes of e-bikes:

Class 1 β€” Pedal assist only; motor cuts off at 20 mph.

Class 2 β€” Throttle assist (no pedaling required); motor cuts off at 20 mph.

Class 3 β€” Pedal assist only; motor cuts off at 28 mph. Riders must be 12 or older, and a helmet is required for all riders and passengers.

Classes 1–3 require no registration, driver's license, or insurance. All e-bike riders must still follow standard traffic laws under L.R.S. Title 32.

Not all electric bikes are e-bikes under the law. High-power models like Surrons and similar electric motorbikes do not qualify as e-bikes in Louisiana. Depending on the vehicle, operators may be required to have registration, a driver's license, and insurance, and these vehicles are not permitted on bike paths or all public roads.
Also a reminder: Four-wheelers, dirt bikes, electric dirt bikes ,and off-road side-by-sides are never permitted on public roadways.

Our officers will lead with education and awareness when addressing e-bike concerns, but safety in Youngsville is our priority.

For questions, call us at (337) 856-5931.
Stay safe and ride smart, Youngsville.
