Clothed In Righteousness is all about building relationships and loving people unconditionally. đź’ś We address the tangible needs of the homeless community and those individuals and families who are struggling to stay afloat.

If you are homeless, we want you to know that we love you and want to help. If you are battling addiction, we love you and want to support you. If you have a felony record, we are here for you and want to assist. If you’re struggling with mental health issues, we love you and want to help you through this. Regardless of your situation, we want you to know that we love you in your darkest moments and celebrate with you in your brightest ones. Above all, no matter what you've done or what season of life you are currently in, Jesus loves YOU!

This picture is from last night and it truly moved me to tears. It shows two people who are struggling with life and addiction. Kacie took the time to shop with them, talk to them, and encourage them, and she, along with Ms. Vicki, prayed 🙏with them. We also offered to drive them to a wonderful Christ-centered rehab, free of charge, whenever they are ready. We won’t forget about them once they are in rehab; we will be their cheer squad, and we will visit them during family visits and events. We can’t make the decision for them, but we can love them through the worst and encourage them to reach for the best that God has for them.
This is what Jesus’s family looks like! ✝

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Sometimes it just takes one kind gesture to make a difference in someone's life

Yesterday, SGT McCoy met a man by the name of Dan Williams, age:57, sitting in front of Wendy’s in Horn Lake. He was down on his luck and was hungry. SGT McCoy walked him inside and offered to buy the man lunch. The Wendy’s Management would not let the deputy pay, because they covered Mr. Williams’ meal instead!
SGT McCoy sat down and ate lunch with Mr. Williams. He found out that Mr. Williams had no money or phone and has been catching rides from Ohio in an attempt to get down to Monroe, Louisiana to be with family.
SGT McCoy could tell that Mr. Williams had a good heart and wanted to help him, so he got with Deputies Brea, Garrett, and Andrews. They all pulled money out of their own pockets and pitched in to buy Mr. Williams an $89.00 Greyhound bus ticket to get home, along with an additional $60.00 for some food and necessities. SGT McCoy later said that Mr. Williams broke down and cried as he was dropping him off at the bus station in Memphis, TN. Mr. Williams looked over to SGT McCoy and told him, “Out of all of the people that reached out to help me in my time of need, it was the cops. Thank you!!”
This is not a one time incident….These random acts of kindness happen everyday across this county and our nation with law enforcement officers reaching out to help those in need, but most of these good deeds go unnoticed because that’s our job and that’s what we do. We are proud to protect and serve you!

So 8 years ago today myself and Dale Fisher we're underneath the bridge in Youngstown (yes it was winter and cold)putting up new tents for the amazing people that lived under there. I say amazing because I loved every single one of them and they were my family. Yes I even brought some home to live with me and had some over for holidays although we and my friends for many years cooked them holiday dinners under the bridge. Even after we got many housed and those that got housing on their own never went without a proper meal or what they needed. This was even before I founded Rising Above the River - Helping Youngstown's Homeless. We did have a homeless house and sadly many of our friends that lived there passed away. We still have the house but I let a family live there and they destroyed the house and never paid a dime for utilities it came and is still coming out of my pocket even though the house now needs redone.(Only mentioned that last part cuz many knew i have the house and wanted to update on whats going on with it) But that's for another day. I would not change anything I did for the world. I loved everyone of the over 40 people that we helped at different times. So many I've lost count. People have been asking if I'm ready for Christmas and the answer is no not in the sense they mean. For example one year I decided to buy everyone that lived under the bridge new boots and another year after they were housed myself and others bought a ton of gifts for those guys that hadn't been housed for many years. One My Eric lived under that bridge for 30 years right after he got out of the Army. He passed away a couple years ago and he was only 56 and I miss him everyday. So I will celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus and not worry about spending a ton of money on things that will get pushed aside with everything else but instead celebrate like it was Christmas everyday by helping those in need which I do every week. I close in being thankful to God for meeting you Dale and all the others (don't want to name in case I'd forget anyone) that helped me back then and now and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I truly love you all! And now I'm crying
