We welcomed staffers from Ohio Congressman Rep. Dave Joyce’s office to learn about the Hub and YBI resources! The team explored how the Hub is accelerating next‑generation manufacturing technologies, strengthening the DIB supply chain, and building a skilled workforce ready to lead in fast‑evolving aerospace and defense fields.

We're proud to showcase the incredible momentum, partnerships, and innovation happening right here in Northeast Ohio.

On August 28, technology companies and regional innovation partners, Engineered Products, Inc. (EPI) and Agilis Air, gathered in Northeast Ohio for a drone-testing demonstration showcasing how collaboration can accelerate the development and application of emerging technologies.

The demonstration featured EPI’s patented embedded RFID technology integrated onto Agilis Air’s modular Remora unmanned aircraft system (UAS). Together, the companies extended EPI’s established ground-based RFID and asset-tracking technology into an airborne capability designed to inspect and track assets across large, complex, or difficult-to-access environments.

The team moved the technology from concept to a proven drone system in approximately four months.

Thank you to the members of the Ohio House GOP Caucus for visiting the Mahoning Valley!

The group took time to meet with regional partners collaborating with the Youngstown Innovation Hub, learn about emerging technologies under development, and tour the Hub’s future home, the 107 Building, managed by YBI. The State of Ohio recently allocated a $750K Capital Budget investment to support reconstruction of the facility, enabling space for new companies to grow and innovate.

A special thank-you to YBI, JuggerBot 3D, LeapFast Manufacturing, Ursa Major, Engineered Products, Inc. (EPI), and Agilis Air for hosting the tours and showcasing the next-generation technologies being developed in the Mahoning Valley.

📣 MCCTC dedicates its new $16M LEAD Center!

What a great way to kick off the morning - Megan Malara, Youngstown Innovation Hub, and Courtney Puhl, America Makes - attended the grand-opening of the Mahoning County Career & Technical Center's new Leadership Employment Advanced Discovery (LEAD) Center in Canfield.

The 40,000 sq. ft. facility will focus on industrial robotics and automation, computer networking and cybersecurity, AI systems, and more.
