The Chicago startup just closed an oversubscribed $2.9M funding round to accelerate deployment of its Fringe Inspection system, a real‑time structured‑light monitoring tool that detects print defects as they happen. With compatibility across major industrial metal AM processes and early traction with aerospace, automotive, and U.S. military users, Phase3D is positioned to support crucial industry needs like quality control, materials qualification, and workforce development. As AM adoption grows, technologies like Fringe Inspection will play a key role in making reliable, scalable production a reality.
