The Community Initiative to Reduce Violence (C.I.R.V) is a partnership of law enforcement, social service agencies, and the community to reduce gun violence in the City of Youngstown, Ohio. Our mission is to create an effective delivery system to offer young, mid-level offenders a circle of support that will enable them to choose a nonviolent path in life, thereby enhancing their futures and improving the quality of life in our city. We plan to do this by:
-Reducing gun violence perpetrated by violent gangs/groups
-Delivering a focused deterrence message through robust law enforcement initiatives to target chronic violent offenders
-Offering support services to those violent offenders willing to change
-Offering violence prevention programming to youth in the community
-Engaging and soliciting community participation in delivering violence deterrence message
