Riverfest 2026 was a success in Lowellville, bringing residents, visitors, and partners together to celebrate recreation and community.

At noon, local officials and partners gathered for the ribbon-cutting of the new park and pavilion, made possible through the support of the Mahoning County Commissioners, Western Reserve Port Authority, Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, Lowellville CIC, and the many local supporters.

The new park and pavilion will serve as a gathering space for years to come.

PLEASE BREAK DOWN YOUR BOXES BEFORE RECYCLING ♻️

Help us keep our community recycling sites clean and usable for everyone! Breaking down cardboard boxes before placing them in the recycling bin helps save valuable space and allows more residents to use the containers properly.

Please also do not leave recycling on the ground. When materials are left outside the bins, they can easily blow around and create litter throughout the area.

If a recycling site is full or needs our attention, please call us at 330-740-2060. We’re happy to help direct you to another nearby recycling location — we have over 25 recycling sites throughout the county available for residents to use.

Thank you for doing your part to keep our recycling sites clean, safe, and efficient! 🌎💚

The Youngstown Police Dept. Traffic and Accident Investigation Unit would like to advise the public that photo speed enforcement in designated school zones will be suspended during summer recess following the final day of classes for each respective school.

Photo speed enforcement in school zones will resume at the start of the '26-'27 school year. The Youngstown Police Department reminds motorists to continue driving safely and obeying posted speed limits throughout the city.
