Just in time for Father's Day, we were able to put together 20 special care bags for fathers staying at the Warren Family Mission, thanks to the generosity of our friends at Doral Giant Eagle and Ultium Cells (Warren, OH).

Each bag was filled with snacks, drinks, toiletries, and other useful items to let these dads know they are valued and appreciated.

Thank you to Doral Giant Eagle and Ultium Cells for helping us share a little extra kindness this Father's Day. Together, we're making a difference in the lives of our neighbors in need. 💙

Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley will be closed on Thursday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Today, we join communities across the country in recognizing and celebrating freedom and resilience to build a stronger future.

We will resume normal operations on Friday, June 20.

Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community?

Second Harvest Food Bank is currently seeking dedicated volunteers for our weekly volunteer groups on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Volunteers assist with important tasks such as sorting food donations, packing boxes, and helping us prepare food for distribution. We are looking for individuals who can commit to volunteering on a regular weekly basis.

While we were a little sad to see this year's Canstruction displays come down at Eastwood Mall Complex on Friday, we're proud of the impact they made for our community.

One of the best parts of Canstruction is that every nonperishable food item used in the displays is donated back to Second Harvest Food Bank after the event. This year's creations provided a total of 7,054 pounds of food, helping provide over 35,000 meals for local individuals and families facing hunger.

Congratulations to Ultium Cells (Warren, OH) for being voted this year's People's Choice Award winner! Thank you to all of the teams who shared their creativity, time, and effort to make this year's event such a success.

We're already looking forward to seeing what our builders come up with next year!

Mark your calendars for the 31st Annual Classic Vehicle Show on Sunday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Greenwood Chevrolet in Austintown!

Come check out an incredible lineup of steel cars, Corvettes, and classic vehicles while enjoying food vendors, a DJ, basket raffle, and 50/50 drawing. It's sure to be a great day for car enthusiasts and families alike.

We're grateful that Second Harvest Food Bank is once again one of the event's beneficiaries. Spectator admission is free, and vehicle registration is just $10.

We hope to see you there for a fun-filled day supporting a great cause!

A big thank you to two wonderful groups that recently spent time giving back at Second Harvest Food Bank!

The Men's Bible Study group made a tremendous impact by assembling 112 senior boxes and packing 160 bags of oranges. Their hard work will help ensure our neighbors have access to the nutritious food they need.

We also enjoyed having our friends from Siffrin visit. They colored 18 pages that will be included in future distributions, adding a personal touch and a little extra brightness for those receiving food assistance.

From packing food to spreading kindness, every act of service helps strengthen our community. Thank you to these volunteers for making a difference!
