Are you concerned about government surveillance happening in your community? Do you want to learn more about protecting yourself, your family, and your neighbors from criminalization associated with exercising your right to reproductive freedom? Join us to learn about Flock “Safety” and the ever-expanding surveillance strategies used to criminalize pregnant people across borders.

On September 22 from 6 PM – 8 PM, the Cleveland FlockNO Campaign and statewide partners will host a virtual teach-in about the impact of AI surveillance cameras on access to reproductive healthcare. After this teach-in, you'll understand how surveillance technologies are used against pregnant people and our communities, how to get involved in efforts to fight back already happening across Ohio, and tips for starting grassroots campaigns in your community.

On Friday, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling ordering the FDA to temporarily impose medically unnecessary in-person dispensing requirements on mifepristone. The ruling effectively blocked access to abortion medication by mail for patients across the country.

On Monday, the US Supreme Court temporarily blocked the ruling until May 11, allowing telehealth and mailing of mifepristone to resume, as it has since the FDA permanently removed the in-person dispensing requirement in 2023.

What does this mean for Ohioans?

First, our most important message was to let patients know that Ohio abortion clinics are open for service. When headlines talk about banning abortion, many people can get confused and believe that their ability to access care is blocked.

Second, Ohioans who want to obtain abortion medication by mail are impacted by orders on the FDA from the Fifth Circuit, even though that court's jurisdiction is in Louisiana.

Ohioans can still get mifepristone by mail through May 11, but a new court fight leaves the future of abortion pill access uncertain.
