Student safety is always our top priority! On Tuesday, June 9th, Y115 successfully conducted a formal Reunification Drill Exercise to test our post-incident protocols, utilizing the Standard Reunification Method (SRM).

This proactive drill allows us to practice safely and efficiently reconnecting students with their parents/guardians during an emergency, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to a safe school environment.

A huge thank you to our incredible partners who collaborated with our District Staff to make this exercise a success:

In the mood for a burger? Head over to Rowdy's, in downtown Yorkville, where the "Greek Smash" is now on the menu!

At the end of the school year, second-semester Yorkville Middle School FACS students competed in the second "Burger Throwdown" of the year. Students Sabina G., Bri R., and Lily B., from Mrs. Sager's 12th-period class, wowed the judges with their creation of ground beef and lamb, onion, tomato, and a caramelized onion sauce.

Their recipe has been fine-tuned by the chefs at Rowdy's and has now found a permanent home on the Smash Burger rotation. Their burger will be on the menu all summer! In just the first nine days of June, Rowdy's has already sold over fifty "Greek Smash" burgers!

Congratulations on designing something creative and delicious! And thank you, Rowdy's, R. Cooper Farms, and the Yorkville 115 Educational Foundation, for your continued support of the YMS Family and Consumer Sciences program!
