Just before wrapping up the school year a few weeks ago, members of the Sheriff's Office had the opportunity to participate in Bristol Grade School’s field day!

Students got an up-close look at a K9 patrol vehicle and a chance to meet our comfort dog, Snow. We also shared important safety tips and answered students’ questions throughout the event.

Thank you to Bristol Grade School for inviting us to be part of this fun day. We always enjoy connecting with our community’s youngest learners and helping build positive relationships through education and engagement.

As a result of yesterday’s storms Douglas Rd is closed between Wolf Rd and Woolley Rd. Several power poles were downed during the storm and the road will remain closed until Comed is able to respond and complete repairs. It is expected the road will be closed until this evening.

In the meantime, we ask that drivers seek an alternate route when traveling in the area. Thank you!

The Flame of Hope made its way to Kendall County

Earlier today, Kendall County law enforcement agencies came together to carry the Flame of Hope through our community in the 2026 Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. We were able to beat the rain and storms to pass the torch on to our local Special Olympics Illinois- Region C athletes, who are prepping for their State tournament competitions this weekend in Bloomington! 🏆🥇

Thank you to all of the runners and staff for helping make this event a success and carrying the flame with pride: Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Yorkville Police Department Village of Oswego Police, IL, Montgomery Police Department, and Plano Illinois Police Department.

Good luck to all of the athletes competing this weekend - we can’t wait to see you bring home some hardware! But most importantly, if you cannot win, be brave in the attempt!

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has hired two new deputies to fill vacancies in the Operations Division. Anthony “Tony” Ikis and Champ Evans were sworn in on Monday, June 8, 2026, by Sheriff Dwight Baird.

Deputies Ikis and Evans will complete an internal office acclimation training phase and will then be paired with experienced field training officers for the field training phase (FTO).

Deputy Ikis attended Triton College and worked for the River Grove Police Department for twenty-seven years before joining the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Evans attended Benedictine University, earning a Master’s Degree in organizational development and behavior, and worked for the Bolingbrook Police Department for twenty-eight years, and the Oswego Police Department for several years before that, before joining the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Releases 2025 Annual Use of Force and Internal Investigation Reports

The Sheriff’s Office is releasing the 2025 Annual Use of Force Analysis and Reports and the 2025 Annual Administrative Internal Investigations Analysis and Reports for both the Operations and Corrections Divisions of the Sheriff’s Office. It is the policy of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office to conduct these audits annually to evaluate our performance and ensure accountability to the citizens we are sworn to serve.

The Annual Use of Force Analysis and Reports conclude that members of the Operations Division were involved in twenty-four (24) reviewable use-of-force incidents, none of which were found to involve excessive force following a thorough administrative review. Members of the Corrections Division were involved in sixteen (16) reviewable use-of-force incidents, one of which was found not to be in accordance with policy following a thorough administrative review. The employee involved in that incident is no longer employed with the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

The Annual Administrative Internal Investigations Analysis and Reports conclude that members of the Operations Division were involved in approximately 21,614 incidents involving contact with the public. Of those 21,614 public contacts, fourteen (14), or approximately 0.06%, resulted in a formal complaint or administrative investigation. Members of the Corrections Division processed approximately 2,257 individuals into the Kendall County Jail, which maintained an average daily population of 56 individuals. Corrections staff are in constant contact with the inmate population housed in the jail, as well as members of the public, resulting in six (6) formal complaints or administrative investigations.

Undersheriff Bobby Richardson said, “I believe transparency is a key pillar necessary to build and maintain trust within our community. By making these reports available to the public, we hope to foster that trust by ensuring we remain accountable to the citizens we serve. The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is committed to ensuring deputies conduct themselves professionally and treat everyone with dignity and respect.”

The 2025 Use of Force Analysis and the Annual Administrative Internal Investigations Analysis and Reports are available for public review under the “Transparency” tab on the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office website at the following link:
