We are a q***r intentional community and Retreat Center located on the edge of the Anderson Valley in Southern Mendocino County, about two hours’ drive from the San Francisco Bay Area. We host community events and gatherings, monthly work parties, and rent our facility to like minded groups for their own events.
Forty acres of Groundswell’s land is easily accessible or developed – the majority, over 150 acres, remains deep redwood forest, the province of deer and other woodland creatures. It is our goal to keep it so. We seek to steward this beautiful Northern California land, creating and maintaining only in balance with the natural systems that were here well before ourselves.
Our land features redwood groves, a year-round creek, a swimming pond, and spectacular upland views. On the “residential side” of our property we tend gardens and farm animals, and we place a high value on environmental sensitivity, both in our business and in our community life.
The Groundswell Retreat Center features a spacious dining hall with commercial kitchen, cozy cabins, camping areas, breakout spaces, bathhouse, and a state-of-the-art hot tub. We are delighted to share this land with organizations and individuals who hold our values in common. Our facility is versatile and can accommodate retreats, conferences/workshops, weddings, and private parties.
