The Yorktown Fire Department conducted its annual pump testing on our Engines. You might have seen the fire trucks in the parking lot a wondering what was happening. You also might wonder what this means to have the trucks pump tested. Testing is designed to identify potential failures, such as leaks or decreased performance, guaranteeing the apparatus operates reliably during emergencies. By having this done, it documents the apparatus is ready to serve “you” the public. It benefits “us” the Fire Department knowing the apparatus is in working order when utilizing them at a structure fire. Documentation can also benefit your insurance ratings when an ISO( Insurance Services Office) audit is conducted. The Fire Department would like to thank the City of Yorktown for their continued support in annually budgeting for this to be completed along with LoneStar Fire Specialties for conducting the annual pump testing.
