Yorktown Community Nursery School is a parent cooperative nursery school program dedicated to nurturing the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of your child conviently located in the heart of Yorktown Heights, NY. YCNS provides a unique opportunity for parents to learn how to effectively support the learning process and understand more about their child by becoming involved in his or her first school experience. While learning to work together in a group, your children are encouraged to develop independent thought and action, guided gently by N.Y.S. A little routine that makes a big difference.
Every morning at YCNS, children find their cubby, check in by finding their name, and answer our Question of the Day — a new one every day that ties into the lesson or theme of the week!

These simple steps build independence, encourage communication, and help children ease into their school day.
Parents stay for this part of the morning, helping their child make a gentle transition from home to school. 💚

And just like that… we’re off! ✨💛

What a wonderful first couple days of school! We loved welcoming our little learners back, watching new friendships begin, and seeing curious faces start to feel at home in their classrooms.

We believe little ones deserve some extra time to settle in! 🌱 That’s why we ease into the school year with shorter days and smaller class sizes these first couple of weeks, giving each child the opportunity to feel comfortable, confident, and at home before taking on a full day.

Here’s to a beautiful year of playing, learning, exploring, and lots of fun together! We’re so excited for what’s ahead! 🎨📚☀️

Last week we proudly celebrated our Senior Class Graduation and our Toddler and Junior Moving Up Ceremony! 🌟

To our amazing seniors 🎓—we are so proud of all you have accomplished. Watching you learn, grow, and blossom into confident, curious, and kind young learners has been an absolute joy. As you head off to kindergarten, know that you will always have a special place in our hearts. 💙📚🍎
